Come If You're Called

TheCalledFlier

365Hui“If you plan it, they may come”–I said I was going to put together an event for “The Called” and I’m doing it..and you are invited!

So many people from my “365 Things to Do in Kona” page say they were called to the Big Island. (Including my three new friends I met from this blog in this photo from my birthday!)

I have mentioned a few times in my posts that I want to get these “connected” folks…well..connected! So, I am spearheading a Beach BBQ on Saturday April 12th from 3 to sunset at the Kahalu’u Beach Park..(Snorkel Beach) in Keauhou.

Bring a beverage, a pupu and something for the grill. This is a low key, fun way to meet some new folks or bring your friends who connect with this idea, too and let’s talk story! Good opportunity to share resources, and referrals, as well as help each other out. It’s all about creating community and I think we have something special here.

Kids are welcome and bring your snorkel gear..Kahalu’u  is great for swimming and seeing just about every tropical fish we have swimming in joy around this island. 😉

We will meet in the covered lanai area if I can get the tables first! Otherwise, we can sit out under the palm trees. Find us where we can be close to the grills.

Hope to meet you soon!

Spread the word if you love what you heard! #365kona so we can say Thanks!

I am also one of the called but have not arrived yet. 4 years in the making, our plan to relocate to the Big Island is coming together. We will see this group before summer.
    Aloha!

Julie, thanks for all your great information on the Big Island. My boys and me just returned home after spending 5 glorious days on the Big Island (and 9 on Kauai). This was our first time to the Big Island and we absolutely fell in love. No other island has felt so warm and welcoming as the Big Island. We are counting down the days to getting back and spending more time exploring the island and getting to know the people. In fact, we all felt such a meaningful connection we are planning our future (albeit distant) move there. Hope we get to meet you our next time out there!

    • Thanks for your note Susan! Hope you will download my book about Moving to Hawaii as soon as I get it done! Always enjoy connecting with people who are called to be here!

    Julie,
Read about your beach party… sounds like it was a great time. Wish we could have made it! We are answering “the call” as fast as we can! If you have one next year, we will be there! We love the Kona area! We stay in Captain Cook when we visit (7× since 2009)… Quinn’s and the Fish Hopper are our favorites! Even though we love Kona, our call has landed us in Ka’u at Pahala Village… We finally succumbed back in January during our last 3 week stay.. came house hunting in May for a week..we close end of June! We can’t wait! We will not actually be making the move till January due to our pets.. wish it was now!
Hope to run into you at Costco or at the beach.. we like the Four Seasons!

    Julie,

Great site with pertinent information about making the move to Big Island.
My Wife and I and another couple were vacationing on big island recently oct. 8- 18
and we explored high and wide and fell in love with the island.
we came home and are now planning our move to big island permanently in sept.- oct. 2015.
this had been talked about even before our trip, after our trip it solidified our move.
after doing days, weeks , and hours of research and homework we decided to do it.

    Patrick
