My husband and I keep tabs on spiritual doings in the blogsphere and we have been following “Kauiapele” (I know his REAL name) for a few years as he is based here in Kona. He spends alot of time at my favorite restaurant, Java on the Rock, and sends pictures to his 40,000 fans each day from the restaurant and the Big Island.
I was enjoying a cup of coffee today and I saw him hanging in the sun and checking out a gecko. He is a naturally interesting person and we got to chatting.
For those that do not yet know him here is a bit about Kauilapele:
I am a Spirit of Light working with energies on this planet, primarily here in Hawai’i (for over 15 years), to assist in the ascension process and bring about the New Earth. My spiritual missions have taken me from the Big Island of Hawai’i to neighbor islands (Oahu, Kauai), as well as to the mainland US, Peru (Cusco), Bolivia (Lake Titicaca), and Egypt (Gizeh, Saqqara, the Pyramid.)
What I enjoyed is that we started talking about blogging and he gave me some ideas for posting to this blog more frequently and easily. You’d think if I was putting on the largest tech conference in Kona (TechConKona) next week, that I would have this stuff down pat, but hey, we all help each other out with ideas and tips. SO, I don’t know if I was looking up to Kauilapele more for his spiritual “rockstardom” or the fact that he is a local accomplished blogger (because I am a fan of ANYONE who knows enough about writing and technology to keep a blog going strong!)
My husband is going to freak when he sees that Kauilapele posted the picture I took of him this morning at Java on the Rock and used it for a post he wrote today and then linked back to my site! (in tech land that is just as important as a shout out from the stage from a rockstar!)
Normally, I don’t do “fan” posts, but if you knew that he has had over a million views on his pages during his time as a local blogger, you’d be pretty psyched that he used your pic, sent a shout out AND did a link back, too! And if you have gotten to this point, you may have a bit of “techie” in you and you should come to my TechConKona event on August 2nd at the Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort Convention Center from 8:30-4!
Thanks for finally talking about >Local Blogging Star
