I Got Rhythm-Dancing Tree Encourages Young Stars

DancingTreekids

Do you have children who like to dance or enjoy seeing other children perform? My friend Seatree Osage, owner of the Dancing Tree Studio, and an amazing entrepreneur who has brought the art of dance to South Kona, has created a show that I hope you’ll attend on Friday, June 5th at the Kahilu Theater in Waimea from 7-8 pm. Tickets are between $12-$27.

DancingTreekids“I Got Rhythm” is the product of many months of hard work, inspiring moments, and self realization. Performed by The Dancing Tree’s Performance Company, this show will explore rhythm through a variety of dance styles, including ballet, tap, hip hop, modern, and more.
The Performance Company is comprised of eleven dancers from Kona, ranging in ages from 7 to 14. These dancers were chosen from the students of The Dancing Tree Studio, located near Kealakekua,  for their exceptional dedication, passion, talent, and will to learn.
The purpose of the Performance Company is to give The Dancing Tree’s most dedicated and serious students additional opportunities in training and performances. The program is designed to prepare students for a career as dance professionals, give them valuable life skills, and bring more opportunities for the community to see dance performed on the Big Island.
Choreography by Debra McGee, Amanda Trusty, and Miho Morinoue.

Personal friends of mine have children in this dance troupe and have been part of the Dancing Tree’s professional dance company for three years. The girls spend four days a week in practice and I look forward to seeing what they have created on June 5th.

If you are moving to Kona or have children looking for summer classes, contact the Dancing Tree for their class schedule.
This show is sure to be an entertaining experience for all ages. Tickets available at http://kahilutheatre.org/Showinfo/I-Got-RhythmDancingTree
