Join Me to Support Kokolulu Farm and Cancer Retreats Center For #GivingTuesday

On Tuesday, December 2, 2013, shoppers from around the globe will be asked to support a charity/non-profit for the holidays during a new movement called #GivingTuesday. GivingtTueslogoJust like Black Friday and CyberMonday have become popular, this is a dedicated day for people to consider giving to help others. Will you please consider a financial donation on #GivingTuesday for Kokolulu Farms and Cancer Retreats– a local non-profit which provides retreats for people who have been affected by cancer.

I reKokolulusignscently met Lew Whitney and Karin Cooke-the co-founders of Kokolulu Farm and Cancer Retreats Center in Hawi. Recently I wrote a post about local folk who are the rocks creating the ripples that make change in our world by focusing on what they are passionate about. Karin is a cancer survivor herself and a RN and her first husband died of cancer, so she knows the issues surrounding people who are diagnosed and living with cancer personally.

Karin CookeKokolulu Farm is a sustainable organic farm in Hawi and and Lew and Karin are doing amazing work with those afflicted by cancer by providing personal and group retreats at the retreat center on the farm, and providing Qi Gong workshops and classes. (Their board of directors and advisory board are some of the most educated leaders, dedicated healers, educators and naturopaths in the country)

I am working with them during the next few weeks to raise funds to provide scholarships for people who want to participate in a group retreat, so guests can learn about and practice alternative healing methods, enjoy organic food, learn to grow and prepare the food themselves , and also get the rest they need so they can focus on their recovery.

KokoluluHealingDecorpage1My family and I have been blessed with good health and living on this island has opened our eyes to the fantastic healers and mana from this island which re-energizes and helps those who come here seeking wellness. I wanted to give back and also let others know of Kokolulu Farms for people who need to know it exists. Please join me to support Kokolulu Farm and Cancer Retreats Center for #GivingTuesday and for the holidays.

If you or a family member have been affected by cancer or wish to donate to a place that is actually changing and saving lives, I encourage you to donate on their site for the holidays. Happy Thanksgiving, my friends!

I have lost several family members and friends to cancer. Having a health focused, holistic environment to retreat to is wonderful. The gorgeous surroundings make it that much better. All the best to Lew and Karin for continued success providing this experience.
