Orphans, Mutts, and Forever Homes-Kona Natural Soap Company Supports Humane Society

Greg'sDog

As you know, I enjoy supporting good causes in Kona, and since I spent four years fostering kittens for the Hawaii Island Humane Society, I worked with my client to create this unique fundraising campaign. I hope you will consider purchasing soap orphans which are created right here in Kona to benefit our island animals.

Partnership Helps Find Forever Homes

The Hawaii Island Humane Society and Kona Natural Soap Company are both in the business of finding “orphans” a home. The Hawaii Island Humane Society’s orphans are dogs, cats and other pets in need of a forever home. The Kona Natural Soap Company has “soap orphans” created from the trimmings of their all natural, vegan, and handmade soaps. The orphan soaps have the same high quality ingredients as the other soaps made at the factory, but are a blend (a kind of mutt, as you will) so each one is different, but just as good for you.

The Kona Natural Soap Company, located next door to HIHS’ new Animal Community Center in Keauhou Mauka, is donating 10% of all sales of the “soap orphans” to benefit the Hawaii Island Humane Society.

“We are excited to partner with the Hawaii Island Humane Society in creating a unique fundraiser with our orphan soaps, to help fund the projects and facilities for the Hawaii Island Humane Society so they can continue their good work of finding “orphans” forever homes,” stated Greg Colden, co-owner of the Kona Natural Soap Company.

“The Kona Natural Soap Company’s generosity in helping raise funds for the Hawaii Island Humane Society is wonderful,” said HIHS Executive Director Donna Whitaker. “Greg and his business partner, Marty Corrigan, are already great neighbors and this fundraising partnership showcases how we are working together for the benefit of our community and the animals.”

The orphan soaps will be available starting September 15 at the Kona Natural Soap Company shop at the Ali‘i Gardens Marketplace on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday, on the company website, as well as at the Hawaii Island Humane Society for $8.00 for a pair of the soaps, or buy a “pack” of ten for $35.00.

About Kona Natural Soap Company

Founded in Keauhou in 2004, the Kona Natural Soap Company infuses “Aloha” into each of its all-natural soaps using some of the most exotic ingredients available in Hawaii. Using a combination of olive oil, palm kernel oil, coconut oil, Hawaiian Kukui nut oil, along with natural essential oil scents and tropical seeds, the handmade soaps soften and exfoliate skin naturally while the scent relaxes and revitalizes. The Kona Natural Soap Company sources many of its own ingredients from its farm, Kokeleka Lani where coffee, cacao, and tropical fruits are grown in a bio-diverse environment.
